Ideal first fishing trip for children.

Come fishing with our Skippers to have an experience of a lifetime. You catch your fish using rod and line. Both Skippers are commercially endorsed through the MCA, with their license and knowledge, you know you will be in safe hands for the duration of your trip. . Tuition and rod hire is always included in our price.

Mackerel fishing has been changing over the years with the reliability of a catch not as consistent as once seen. The Skipper will know where and what to target on your session but can’t guarantee a catch. If it’s a bit of fun out on the water then this is a great introduction on a fishing boat. However if it’s a catch you are looking for then please remember Mackerel are one of the species we are seeing a big change and decline in our region. You will have an added bonus of seeing the beautiful Isle of Wight from the water and when conditions are right the famous Needles.

Booking in advance is definitely recommended for this fantastic fishing experience.

Half Day Fishing Trips

Available throughout the year we offer half-day fishing trips. These trips are ideal for those wishing to experience boat fishing for the first time. Those with years of experience, also for those who wish simply to have a pleasurable escape for a few hours anchored at various locations around the western shores of our beautiful Isle Of Wight.

Included in the price of your trip is all the equipment you could possible need for fishing. We also include the bait suitable to the fish species we are targeting that season. Just remember to bring your own refreshments.

Our Skippers are always on-hand to offer professional advice and experience to all our passengers.

Trip Duration 4hrs

We do find that often children can get bored on this trip, so we suggest an age limit of 8 yrs old but will consider younger children under parents guidance.

All Day Fishing Trips

If you have never experienced deep sea fishing before or just want to relax on our charter boat, then our all day fishing trips are ideal, from small groups of up to seven people or individuals we offer an all inclusive fishing experience to suit you.

Departing from the historic Yarmouth harbour or Lymington, our charter boat and the skipper will take you out for a days fishing to one of a number of fishing locations that produce various species of fish depending on the time of year.

Fishing equipment and bait can be hired. Remember to bring your lunch and refreshments.

The Skippers have good knowledge of the grounds and are on hand to teach individuals the different methods of using tackle and bait to help you land a fish or two.

Trip duration 8 hrs (Not recommended for U12s )

Private Needles Cruises

Our Boats depart from Yarmouth’s beautiful and historical harbour. Black Rock Charters offer a 90 minute cruises to the world famous Needles Lighthouse and Pinnacles. These trips are very popular and suitable for all ages. We can accommodate up to 8 passengers.

Don’t miss out on the experience of a lifetime seeing the Isle Of Wight’s stunning coastline onboard our boats on the Solent. During the relaxing and leisurely cruise you will see three wonderfully, beautiful bays of Colwell Bay, Totland Bay and the world famous Alum Bay, famous for its natural cultured sands. These naturally formed bays are especially striking when viewed offshore. You can also see Fort Victoria and Fort Albert, including the spectacular 16th century Hurst Castle.

On days when weather and tide permit, our skipper will take you around the other side of the Needles Lighthouse, into the English Channel, to view the most stunning white under cliffs and caves of Tennyson Down. Here you can see the Isle Of Wight from yet another fantastically different perspective, included in the standard cost.
